Mark R Lightcap is a published songwriter and a member of the performing rights society, ASCAP. His songs have been played on National Television and he currently has single song contracts with Rex Benson Music, Los Angeles, and Crowe Entertainment, Nashville. Mark writes everything from Hip-Hop to Country. He recently won the Country Category of the Great American Song Contest with his song called “You See the Rose.” Note: Galen Breen at the Gator Hole Studio, in Nashville recorded the vast majority of the songs on this web site.

Mark’s musical roots go back to the 60’s. He was a member of the San Francisco Bay Area rock band Pendragon. Pendragon enjoyed a 10-year stint as a major player in the Bay Area music scene. The great writers from the 60’s like Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Lennon & McCartney, John Fogerty and many others have had a big influence on his writing. Mark is married to the best thing that ever happened to him, his lovely wife Darlene. They have three children, April, Gretchen and Robert, and reside on their 32 acre ranch in Butte Creek Canyon, Chico, California
